The Chartrons district (named after a monastery of monks called “les Chartreux”) is located on the banks of the Garonne River. Here you can soak up the atmosphere of a port, with its diversity and curious spirit, eager for new flavors and experiences. Wine merchants, particularly from England, Ireland, and Holland, worked and lived here, as the proximity of the quays made it easy to load and unload goods from all over the world.
Les Chartrons has always been dedicated to trade. It still is today, with antique dealers and food shops nestled nicely among the buildings.
It is a lively neighborhood where art lovers and young entrepreneurs happily coexist.
